# Catalogue size, or what an entry holds. They are different questions.

MyFitnessPal has the biggest food catalogue in the category and POWR does not compete with it. What POWR competes on is what a single entry carries once it exists, and who is allowed to say something about it. Both rows are below, including the ones POWR loses.

## Side by side

Every POWR cell is a fact checkable on the page that owns it. Every cell in the other column is either a structural fact that changes on a scale of years, or a note telling you to check for yourself.

Two cells say to check for yourself. That is not evasion: tiers and prices move without warning, and a grid that quoted them would be wrong within a quarter while still looking authoritative.
|   | POWR | MyFitnessPal |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Micronutrients on the free tier | Every entry, with %DV where a reference value exists. Not a premium row and not a weekly digest. | Check theirs — this page will not quote a tier that can change next week. |
| Ingredient-level data | Every entry, free. What the food is made of, not only what it totals. | Check theirs — this page will not quote a tier that can change next week. |
| Food catalogue size (POWR loses) | Barcode, database search, manual entry, and saved meals. Smaller, and not close. | Larger. Two decades of crowd-sourced entries is where the size comes from. |
| Evidence and limitations | Our approach explains the evidence standards, practical principles, and limits of POWR guidance. | Consult the publisher's current documentation. |
| Calorie target | POWR can adapt calorie and macro targets using your food logs, weight history, and goals. These remain estimates, not direct measurements of metabolism. | Check theirs — this page will not quote a tier that can change next week. |
| Photo logging | POWR Pro. An editable draft; nothing saves until you agree with it. | Check theirs — this page will not quote a tier that can change next week. |
| Ads | No ads on either tier. App analytics and crash reporting require consent. | Check theirs — this page will not quote a tier that can change next week. |
| Platforms (POWR loses) | iPhone only. An Android app is roadmap, not release. | iPhone, Android, and the web. |

## Where MyFitnessPal wins, and it is not close

The catalogue. Two decades of crowd-sourced entries is a moat POWR does not have and is not going to claim it has. If you log packaged and restaurant food by typing its name and expecting it to already be there, MyFitnessPal will find it more often than POWR will.

POWR's answer is not a bigger database. It is barcode, search, manual entry, and saved meals for the food that is catalogued, and [photo logging on Pro](https://powrhealth.com/photo-meal-logging) for the plate that was never going to be in any catalogue. That is a different shape, not a smaller version of the same thing, and on the specific question of "is this item in here" it is the weaker one.

And the platforms. POWR is iPhone only. That is not a preference to argue with, it is a hard stop.

## Pick MyFitnessPal instead if

Any one of these is enough. They are not weighed against a list of POWR's advantages, because that is how a real decision works.

- You log mostly by name from a huge catalogue and you need the entry to already exist.
- You are on Android, or you log from a desktop browser.
- You want a food estimate from a photograph without paying — POWR has no free AI and no trial, so check what each free tier currently includes.

## FAQ

### What is a MyFitnessPal alternative that also tracks workouts and bloodwork?

POWR is one iPhone option. It combines a food diary with workout recording, periodized training plans, recovery, and 93 bloodwork biomarkers from a reviewed PDF or photo. MyFitnessPal still has the larger food catalogue, and POWR does not claim otherwise.

### Is POWR a MyFitnessPal replacement?

For food logging on iPhone, it can be. POWR includes micronutrient detail on free entries, adaptive targets, workout records, and a Pro coach. Your old food diary does not import; compare the catalogue and platform support before switching.

### Can I move my MyFitnessPal history across?

Not the food log. POWR has no importer and does not read nutrition out of Apple Health — nutrition is a category POWR writes to Health rather than reads from it. Workouts, sleep, heart, and weight all come across through Health. [The switch page](https://powrhealth.com/switch/myfitnesspal) has the full accounting.

### Why will this page not tell me what MyFitnessPal costs?

Because it would be wrong eventually and there would be no signal when it became wrong. Prices and tiers move without warning. POWR publishes its own, in full, on [pricing](https://powrhealth.com/pricing), and leaves the other side of the comparison to the source that is actually current.

### Does POWR have ads?

No ads on either tier. App analytics and crash reporting remain off unless enabled with consent. See [your data](https://powrhealth.com/your-data) for the controls.
