# Bring the day over. Start the diary today.

Most of what your last app knew about you is already in Apple Health, and POWR reads it on the first launch. Your food log is the one thing that does not come with you. This page says so before you install anything, and then says exactly what that costs.

## What arrives before you log anything

POWR requests 54 read types from HealthKit in one permission sheet. Whatever your old setup wrote there is history POWR can read on day one.

Workouts

Every session Apple Health holds, with route and heart rate where the app that recorded them saved those too. You do not retype a run another app already wrote.

Sleep

Sleep and heart history from Apple Health can provide context. Readings may be unavailable until enough recent data is present.

Heart

Resting rate, variability, and the raw signals underneath. Several of those POWR reads on the phone and sends nowhere.

Weight and body

The weigh-ins your scale or your last app wrote to Health. Permitted weight history is available alongside your new food diary.

## Your food log stays where it is

Nutrition is not one of the 54 types POWR reads. POWR writes your meals to Apple Health and never reads anyone else's in, and there is no importer for a CSV export either. Whatever you logged elsewhere stays elsewhere.

That is a real cost and it is worth naming rather than burying. It is also a finite one. Below is every part of POWR that has to warm up, and what each is waiting on.

01

The coach's read on a meal

One logged meal, and POWR Pro. Immediate. Nothing to warm up.

02

Recovery and readiness

Enough recent sleep and heart data. Read from Health. Often already satisfied on day one.

03

Adaptive calorie target

Your own food logs and weight history. Permitted weight history can carry over. Food logging starts in POWR.

## Where are you coming from?

The answer above holds whichever app you are leaving. These pages cover what is specific to each one.

### MyFitnessPal

The log does not transfer. What changes is what every entry holds afterwards.

### Lose It

### Cronometer or MacroFactor

Keep the nutrient depth. Add a coach that reads the diary instead of leaving it to you.

### Carbon Diet Coach

POWR is not a check-in coach. It offers adaptive targets alongside food, training, and recovery.

### Yazio

No recipe library and no fasting timer here. POWR can still scan a recipe from social and save it — see recipe scan. Nutrient depth on every free entry instead.

### Lifesum

No displayed food grade. Keep nutrient details, with optional meal discussion on Pro.

### Cal AI

Same camera, more underneath it. The photo is Pro and this page says so up front.

### SnapCalorie

No accuracy contest. Nothing saves until you have seen the estimate and agreed with it.

### Bevel

You are already synced. POWR reads the same ledger, and adds the food half.

## FAQ

### Can I import my food log from another app?

No. POWR has no importer for a MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, or MacroFactor export, and it does not read nutrition out of Apple Health either — nutrition is a category POWR writes to Health, never reads from it. Your POWR diary starts on the day you install it.

### So what does come across?

Workouts, sleep, heart data, movement, and body measurements, through Apple Health, as far back as Health kept them. That is read-only and permission by permission: an ungranted type is skipped rather than nagged about.

### Do I have to stop using my old app?

No. HealthKit is a shared ledger and POWR is one more reader of it. If you keep another app writing workouts or sleep to Health, POWR reads those too. Run both for a fortnight if you want to.

### How long until POWR is telling me something useful?

Your diary starts with your first entry. Connected history can provide context, while adaptive features may need more of your own records. Timing depends on the data available.

### What if I switch back?

POWR writes your workouts, nutrition, water, and weight to Apple Health as you go, so what you logged here is in the shared ledger rather than only in POWR. Deleting the app does not take that with it.
