# Press start. Keep the session together.

Record runs, lifts, swims, and other activities in POWR. Workout recording, the exercise catalogue, and your strength history are free.

## The right record for the session

A run, walk, ride, or hike uses a map with route, pace, and distance. Lifting uses a set logger with reps, load, rest timers, supersets, and personal-record indicators. Swimming uses a pool timer; other activities use a simpler clock.

The catalogue includes 1,474 entries: 1,250 movements and 224 activities you can record live. Entries include plain-language descriptions; detailed written how-to guides cover only part of the catalogue.

## On the move

GPS recording continues with the phone locked. Live heart rate depends on available readings from Apple Health. Splits, pace, and barometric climb help describe the session you recorded.

These are device readings and estimates, not laboratory measurements. There is no running cadence display or manual running lap button. The Mark lap control belongs to swimming.

## On the gym floor

Log sets and load, use rest timers and supersets, and revisit your previous session. A plate calculator helps you assemble a load from the plates available.

Estimated strength records are estimates, not a reason to test a maximum. Technique, equipment, and the kind of movement affect what a logged number means.

## When a session is interrupted

POWR saves progress during supported sessions and can offer resume, save, or discard when you return. This recovery covers single-discipline sessions, not mixed, swimming, or back-dated sessions.

A recording should not be treated as guaranteed complete until you have checked the saved workout.

## Review it in context

On Pro, the post-workout debrief discusses your recorded session when AI is enabled. Verify important figures against the workout; an AI response can be wrong. [The coach page](https://powrhealth.com/ai-coach) explains those limits.

[Training plans](https://powrhealth.com/training-plans) supply structure across weeks. [Workout detection](https://powrhealth.com/workout-detection) can suggest activity you forgot to start, but cannot recreate a route or set log that was never recorded.

## FAQ

### How many exercises are there?

1,474 catalogue entries: 1,250 movements and 224 activities you can record live. Every one is enabled, carries a plain-language description, and carries search synonyms so a partial name finds it. 1,242 name their equipment across 26 kinds, and 232 need none at all.

### What does it record for a run versus a lift?

The activity decides the screen. A run gets a map, kilometre splits, barometric climb, pace, and live heart rate with zones. A lift gets a set logger with derived rest, superset handling, PR badges, and a plate calculator. A swim gets a pool timer. Everything else gets a clock.

### Does it work with the screen off?

Yes. GPS keeps running locked, the rest timer is anchored to a wall clock so it keeps ticking without the app pushing to it, and the Dynamic Island carries your elapsed time, distance, pace, and heart rate. When you are mid-lift it becomes a rest countdown.

### What happens if the app crashes at minute eighty-five?

POWR saves workout progress and can offer to resume, save, or discard an interrupted session when you return.

### Does the debrief make up numbers?

The debrief uses your recorded workout information, but AI responses can contain errors. Verify important details against the session. See [the coach](https://powrhealth.com/ai-coach).

### Is any of this Pro?

Recording, the whole catalogue, and your strength history cost nothing. Only the post-workout debrief and the builder's AI door are Pro, and the debrief also needs AI turned on.
