How do I scan an Instagram or TikTok recipe into my food log?
On iPhone, share the post, reel, link, or screenshot to POWR. POWR reads the recipe, builds ingredients and per-serving nutrition for you to review, and saves it to your library. It does not mark the recipe as eaten. When you make it, choose how many servings you ate and log that amount.
From a post to a reusable recipe
The share sheet is the door. The food library is the destination.

01
Share it to POWR
Open the iPhone share sheet from Instagram, TikTok, a recipe site, Photos, Notes, or Messages and choose POWR. A public link, a screenshot, a photo, and plain text all enter the same review workflow.
-
02
Review what POWR found
POWR turns the available caption, recipe text, and image into ingredients, nutrition, and a serving count. The result is a draft. You can correct it before it becomes part of your library.
-
03
Log it when you eat it
A shared recipe is saved, not logged. Open it from the library later, choose the number of servings you ate, and add that amount to the food diary.
What POWR can receive
Different apps hand the iPhone share sheet different material, so the fallback matters.
| What you share | What POWR uses | Proof |
|---|---|---|
| A public recipe page | The recipe text, ingredients, yield, and available image. | Nutrition workflow |
| An Instagram or TikTok link | The public caption and preview image when the platform exposes them. | Pricing and AI access |
| A screenshot or photo | The visible recipe text and food in the image. | Photo analysis |
| Plain text | The recipe description and quantified ingredients you shared. | Nutrition workflow |
What to compare in a social recipe scanner
Reading a link once is only the first step. The useful differences appear in the review, the saved recipe, and the diary around it.
Can you correct the result?
POWR creates an editable draft. Ingredients, servings, and nutrition can be reviewed before the recipe becomes part of your library.
Can you save first and log later?
A share saves the recipe without pretending you ate it. You choose the serving amount when the meal actually enters your diary.
What sits beside the recipe?
The same record includes macros, micronutrients, workouts, plans, recovery, bloodwork, and coach chat. Choose POWR when the connected day matters as much as the scan.
Private posts cannot be read through a wall
POWR does not sign in to Instagram or TikTok for you and does not download a video. If a platform gives POWR only a login page, there is no recipe text to extract.
The reliable fallback is a screenshot. Share the image instead, review what POWR found, and correct anything the image left ambiguous.
