Your health data. Your choices.

Choose what POWR can read, whether to use AI, and whether to enable app analytics. Your health information is not sold or used for advertising.

Apple Health permissions

Grant access by data type and revoke it in iOS Settings whenever you choose. Apple Health sync explains what POWR reads and writes.

Some heart-related readings, including ECG samples, beat-to-beat intervals, one-minute heart-rate recovery, and sleeping breathing disturbances, stay on-device. Other permitted data is synced to provide your account features.

AI requires a separate choice

You enable AI during onboarding and can turn it off in Settings. Most AI workflows use Anthropic's Claude models; voice meal logging, health-category summaries, and the coach's memory use Google's Gemini models through Vertex AI. Relevant information is sent to the provider behind the feature you use.

Turning AI off disables features such as photo analysis, chat, AI insights, lab-document transcription, and AI planning. Barcode scanning, manual logging, and your saved history remain available. Chat history is stored with your account.

AI assistants you connect

You can let ChatGPT or Grok read parts of your POWR data. Nothing is shared until you approve it on POWR's consent screen and pick the categories: recovery and sleep, training, food log and nutrition, body metrics, and your plan. The assistant can only read, and it never sees cycle data, lab results, clinical records, progress photos, or coach chats.

OpenAI or xAI then handles that data under its own privacy policy. Disconnect anytime in Settings → Health connections → Connected agents; to share less, reconnect and uncheck categories. See the privacy policy.

Documents and cycle information

A lab report is sent to the AI provider as supplied. Names, birth dates, or record numbers printed on it travel with the document. The patient name is not stored by POWR; saved results and the lab name are encrypted. The temporary copy on your phone is deleted after upload. See bloodwork.

A cycle log entered in POWR stays on the phone until you enable its separate sync setting, which is off by default. This choice is distinct from AI consent. Cycle information received through Apple Health follows the Apple Health permissions and sync described on that page.

Storage and optional diagnostics

Health data is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit using TLS. POWR holds the encryption key, so this is not end-to-end encryption.

App analytics and crash reporting require consent and remain off unless enabled. Notifications omit health details by default unless you opt in. Check these settings for the level of sharing you want.

POWR is a consumer wellness app, not a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate. References to HIPAA-aligned security practices do not mean HIPAA compliance or certification. Washington and Nevada residents can read our consumer health data policy.

Access, export, and deletion

You can delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This begins the deletion workflow, with removal from active systems after required cleanup. Contact support if you need an export first.

Read the privacy policy for retention, providers, rights, and the full details. This page is an overview, not a replacement for that policy.

FAQ

Everything that leaves POWR for POWR's own AI providers: photo and label scanning, describing a meal in words, chat, your daily briefing, food verdicts, ingredient explanations, workout breakdowns, reading a lab document, and building or adapting a plan. Barcode scanning, manual logging, and everything already in your history keep working with it off. An AI assistant you connect yourself, such as ChatGPT or Grok, has its own separate approval and its own off switch.
You switch it on during onboarding, on a screen that tells you what it does before you continue. One screen in Settings turns it back off, and everything already logged keeps working without it.
Anthropic, through its Claude models, runs most AI features: photo and description analysis, chat, briefings, lab-document transcription, and plans. Google, through Gemini on Vertex AI, runs voice meal logging, the one-line summaries on health category pages, and the coach's memory of past conversations. Neither may train its models on your data.
It is sent to the AI provider as you supplied it, so it can be transcribed. If it prints your name, date of birth, or record number, that goes with it. The patient name is never stored, your results and the lab's name are encrypted at rest, and the copy on your phone is deleted once the upload finishes. See bloodwork.
Health data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and in transit using TLS. POWR holds the encryption key, so this is not end-to-end encryption.
It means the practices, not the status. POWR is a consumer wellness app. It is not a covered entity or a business associate under HIPAA, and it is not offered on behalf of any doctor or health plan, so HIPAA does not apply to your data in POWR and nothing here is HIPAA compliance in the legal sense. State consumer health data laws and the privacy policy still protect it. What POWR adopts voluntarily is the security half: health data encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, audit logging of access and modification, access controls and authentication, encryption-failure monitoring, and complete deletion when you remove your account. The privacy policy covers this in section 9.6.
Only if you connect one and approve it on POWR's consent screen, where you pick the categories it may read: recovery and sleep, training, food log and nutrition, body metrics, and your plan. It can read but never change anything, and it never sees cycle data, lab results, clinical records, progress photos, or your coach chats. Once it has the data, OpenAI or xAI handles it under its own privacy policy, not POWR's. Disconnect anytime in Settings → Health connections → Connected agents. The privacy policy has the details.
App analytics and crash reporting require your consent and are off until you enable them. They are limited to product usage and diagnostic information, not the contents of your health diary.
At most six a day that are not safety messages, at least three hours apart, and none between 21:00 and 07:00 unless you change those hours. Every notification is written twice, and the version without your figures is the one that ships unless you turn health details on — headline included, because the first line is the one a bystander reads.
